I jumped on EA Pacific Shard. There are 4 Cus spawned, Heritage has 6. Heritage spawn times have already been shortened. Amount of a specific spawn is not determined by the mobile being tamable. The spawn is balanced between all mobiles in a given area and other data. The fact that Cus have a chance to spawn as paragons slow down the rate at which you can tame them. The method of using another tamed mobile to block the Cu from attacking the player attempting to tame it is not how the AI is suppose to work, and is an unintended work around. The rare Cu hues chance, stat and resist ranges are also factored based on the difficulty to tame the creature. That difficulty is being circumvented.
Swoop is a named mobile that drops artifacts, the chance for those artifacts to drop is based on there being one mobile per spawn.
